14

Last night we had our first group Bible study of the year. Last spring we tried to do this, but week after week there was only one regular attendee. If I recall correctly, one time the regular was absent, and that time one other student came. Other than that, nobody came, and it felt like a failure.

So last night we weren't sure what to expect. 5 or 6 of the students who normally study the Bible with us one on one were not able to come, and a few students had shown interest but we didn't know if they would actually follow through. John and Allison prepared a study on the first 14 verses of the gospel of John, us girls tidied up the apartment and put out some tea and cookies, we all prayed, and then we waited.

And 14 students came. It was glorious! We split into 2 groups, and there were Bibles in all kinds of translations strewn about while conversations about scripture and the gospel weaved in and out of Croatian and English. There were some maturing believers and some people who had never cracked the Bible to read on their own before. Truth was spoken and Christ was honored. And we were humbled and grateful.

After kind of a tough and crazy month, with wacky things happening left and right, this was an incredible reminder that God is indeed at work, and our time here is not in vain.

That's great! Praise God for those 14! Praying that He continues to reveal His work to you there...

Alexis this is so encouraging. God is so faithful. I love that 14 showed up for the first 14 verses of John - which is my favorite Gospel (if you're allowed to have such thing as a favorite Gospel).

Again, so encouraged by you all.
